Bought the game, backed it up on a BD-DL, which took an hour and almost failed because my ASUS BD drive is really jank.

Then after marking my disc and putting it away, I ran the game and got this.

"The following component(s) are required to run this program:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime"

I don't mean to sound like a crotchety old man, but WOULD IT KILL YOU TO INCLUDE OBVIOUS REDISTS WITH YOUR GAME SO IT CAN ACTUALLY RUN? I've had this happen with at least 2 or 3 other GoG games (Like System Shock 1 Enhanced, and I think Desperados)

I'm on Windows 10 64 bit. I've had updates paused for like a week or two, but come on man. Could the error message at least tell me what version of a Visual C++ redist I need? (It might be Microsoft Visual C++ 2022 according to Steam forums)

Apparently the game works anyway if you go to C:\GOG Games\RoboCop Rogue City\Game\Binaries\Win64 and make a shortcut to the RoboCop-Win64-Shipping executable, and run it that way. Why is this? Older version of the game's executable or something?

Simply Google "Visual C++ Runtime" and you should find a download for an installer. That's what I did and the game launches just fine since running the installer.
Google search is a waste of time.. Download from microsoft download center. You can download any versions of the runtime files you may need from their website. It's worth getting all of them if you play a variety of games sold on GOG: 2005 up until the latest.
