Yeah, expect to see the "Violent Traumatism" screen quite often. Robinson's Requiem and Deus are survival games at their core, and they are even more brutal than many roguelikes. That is saying a hell of a lot.
The sheer amount of micromanagement you'll need to do is overwhelming. You must check your hydration, temperature, etc. constantly. You must treat your wounds carefully. And you must be able and ready to defend yourself against any threat, whether it be man or monster.
Everything in these games is stacked against your odds of surviving. As long as you expect to die regularly, Robinson's Requiem and Deus can be very fun and complex survival sims.
If you enjoy this, you may wish to check out UnReal World, as it is the only survival sim I have found so far that is as complex.
