This message is for the attention of the copyright holders of the Robin Hood license, after repeated attempts to contact the Microids company by email or telephone.
I'm writing to you on behalf of a small team of back-computing enthusiasts called the Apollo Team. Our team has launched and is marketing a new Amiga-compatible computer, and has a user base that has been using our hardware and software on a daily basis for several years.
We would like to clarify the legal status of the “Robin Hood Legend of Sherwood” game developed by Spellbound and published by Wanadoo, as well as the licenses for two other similar games, and discuss a possible partnership around these licenses. It seems that Microids owns these licenses.
Could you please direct me to the appropriate person or department who deals with inquiries about the legal status of these licenses?
Once we've found the right contact, we'd like to have a chat to confirm that Microids does indeed own the rights to these titles. If it is confirmed that Microids holds the rights, we would like to arrange a personal face-to-face meeting to discuss our intentions and possible collaboration in more detail.
We are a dedicated team of retro enthusiasts who have devoted much of their spare time to supporting the retro gaming community. Although we don't have any major commercial projects, our aim is to make classic games like Robin Hood accessible to our community at the lowest possible cost.
Our aim is to negotiate a simple and straightforward sub-licensing agreement. We're willing to pay a small fee in exchange for legal permission to publish Robin Hood (and potentially the other two titles) on the Amiga 68K platform.
Thank you very much for your attention. Yours sincerely
