Can't help you with the 3d sound option. However, you said everything works fine. Some of us using Windows 7 are having a problem with the game speed. Do you have Win 7? If so, can you advise? (please post in the other forum page - game running slow).

Yes, I'm using Win7 Ultimate, I'm also experiencing slow speed. I just wonder if anyone has disabled 3d sound option too?

I think (haven't tried yet) this can be a solution:

"Many problems can be fixed by installing the June 2010 DirectX runtime package. Some older games aren't compatible with the libraries included with current releases of DirectX and this package should help. You can find the installer here.
You will have to extract the files into a selected folder, then open that folder and launch the DXSETUP.exe file in order to proceed with the installation."

I'm interested in 3d sound as well. Any solution so far?

If you have a Creative (or ALchemy compatible) sound card, you can use Creative's ALchemy to restore EAX support and be able to use the 3D sound option.

I don't think this game uses EAX (or at least it doesn't show up in the list of games which use it). Either way, Alchemy doesn't work.
