Once you find the Command artifact, you can choose your items yourself which allows for some really overpowered item combinations that make beating the game a walk in the park. (I also recommend the use of the Kin, Glass, and Sacrifice artifact, if you have them. This makes for a great combination.)
The method for all of these is to stay in the first level and quickly get 8 56 Leaf Clovers to increase the monster drop rate (or use the Sacrifice artifact instead), and soon it will start raining items for you.

Following are the combinations that I found most useful. Add your own to this thread if you have others:
Quick Max. Health Pack:
- Bitter Root (inreases max health by 8%; +8% per stack up to 300%)
- Bustling Fungus (+4.5% health regen per second when standing still; +4.5 healt regen per stack)
- Infusion (inceases max. health by 1; +0.1 per stack)
The maximum health is 9999. Several Infusion items quickly help you to reach this maximum. Bitter Root is especially helpful at the beginning to increase your health bolster, though it loses its worth once you hit max health. Top this off with 10-20 Bustling Fungus to heal quickly.
Deadly Thorns Pack:
- Barbed Wire (close up enemies take 50% damage per second; +20% radius and +10% damage per stack)
- Ceremonial Knife (fire four enemy-seeking bolts on kill; +2 bolts per stack)
This combination makes you almost untouchable. Get as many Barbed Wires and Ceremonial Knives as possible and watch enemies drop like flies without you doing anything.
Skill Spam Pack:
- Lens Makers Glasses (+7% crit chance; +7% crit chance per stack)
- Wicked Ring (reduces cooldowns by 1 sec on crit; -1 sec per stack)
- Alien Head (decreases cooldowns by 25%; -25% cooldown per stack up to 60%)
Get 14 Lens Maker Glasses, 1 (or more) Wicked Rings, and 3 Alien Heads. This is especially useful with piercing attacks, like the Huntress’ second skill. This always resets your cooldowns to 0 when attacking enemy mobs with piercing skills, allowing you to spam like crazy.
