Sorry for more q's spam, but having issues today.

I'm on Kila trying to finish the Sign of the Ancients quest. I have found all of the stones (3) around the village, but nothing has happened.

If I activate the quest, nothing is marked.

Now, I think I cleared out most locations free-roaming prior to receiving the quest. In fact, I think I fought at black panther and defeated it already, but the only item for this quest in my inventory is the spider leg.

Fingers crossed that there's a way to trigger this

This is going off memory (been a while since I played), so this may or may not be of any help.

I'm pretty sure there are 4 stones and 4 animals you need to kill. If you kill the correct animal (each one is unique, if memory serves) it should give you a unique trophy(body part or w/e) for the quest, even if you don't have the quest.

Good luck.
I completed this quest a week ago (actually still have a video of killing the spider, since I was testing Twitch streaming), so I'm sure there are just three stones, two animals and four items (Panther Heart, Sturdy Spider Leg, Shimmering Pearl and Huge Chunk of Jade - map). IIRC the Warrior Stone starts two sub-quests (Jade & Spider Leg), the Seer starts one (Pearl) and the Hunter starts one as well (Heart).

Try getting all four items (and don't forget to open the shells - I think there was a bug when none of them contained the pearl, so save before, though) and speaking to Tenya.
So, maybe I'm missing something?

I've found the three stones but haven't been able to make sense of any of them. Could I be missing something that translates them?

Strange thing is I cleared out the entire island -- except what's beyond the great door -- long ago, so except for the odd ape that occassionally respawns I've seemingly done all that there would seem to do with collecting.

update

Ok, so I finally found Shimmering Pearl quest in my logbook. I activated it, but there is no X on the map. Now, I know the location of the cove and cave for the Shimmering Pearl quest; I cleared it early in the game. So, with that known, I opened every clam I had and got some pearls, but... not the Shimmering Pearl. Maybe I sold the clam earlier in the game? If so, is there another way of getting a Shimmering Pearl?

Ok, I figured it out after searching another message board. Again, it doesn't seem intuitive, so I'll explain:

Somehow I completed all of the quests regarding building the sceptre by simply free roaming the island when I first got to Kila -- except for Shimmering Pearl quest. Now, I'd actually completed it as well but didn't know it. I'll explain...

I cleared out the cove and cave on Kila when I first got to the island, and once I knew I was looking for a pearl, I opened all of the clam shells, but...

... the Shimmering Pearl doesn't come from a clam shell!

Upon reading that I should open all shells in inventory, I did and got the Shimmering Pearl. I have certainly never heard of a pearl coming from anything but a clam, but I guess Piranha Bytes has. Argh!

I'm far from wanting PB to make everything easy, but it really does feel like the quest information and/or logs needed more attention. I'm wondering if some of this is a localization issue

Anyway, once I completed Shimmering Pearl all of the sceptre ingredient quests completed, so that's thankfully over.
