Hi everyone !!

A couple of questions:

1) What is the best one-handed sword fo the game ? The Golden Sword ?

2) After giving the Golden Sword to Don Esteban, can we get it back (by buying it / stealing it / whatever) ?

Noooo. Golden Sword has stats of 30/30 (DMG/STR). There are 7 equal or better one-handed swords, 8 bastard and 8 two-handed swords. All of these can be held as one-handed, with the Swords skill high enough (1 for 1H; 6 for BS; 9 for 2H).

The best 2H sword is Titanwing (100/100).
The best BS sword is Titan Sword (80/75).
The best 1H sword is Sharp Obsidian Sword (50/45).

You can get Sharp Sword (30/25) or Aric's Sword (30/25; Swords +1) in the first chapter as well, so it would be completely pointless to try to retrieve the Golden Sword from Don Esteban. Still, I don't think it's even possible.

Kinda weird... my Golden Sword (that one forged by Oscar) has Blade Damage 58, not 30 like you wrote above. I'm currently Sword Fighting lvl 4, but since when Oscar forged it,it has 58 Blade Dmg.

Yes, I do have Gog's latest version of this game.

But (and we always have a 'but', haven't we ?) I just remembered I'm using many mods for Risen 1, including A.R.B.M. Another Risen Balancing Mod (which does alter the damage of weapons).

I think my whole thread is now useless :P

I wanted to suggest you to check your game with, for example, [url=http://risen.wikia.com/wiki/Category:One-handed_Swords]this[/url] list, but yes, it is useless now. Anyway, at least it's solved. ;)
