Whenever I play a Gothic game (which includes Risen and quite possibly Risen 3, which I don't own yet) I try to figure out what the minimum damage is, and then the damage and damage type of each enemy type so I can get a good idea of how dangerous things are.

In Risen I had concluded that the minimum damage was 10- but I swear I've gotten hit for 5 damage damage on several occasions. Can someone explain what's going on to me?

You are right and you are right.

The minimum damage is 10 or better let's call it base minimum damage. Risen has something called DamageMultiplier individually set for each attack move. For instance counter attacks generally have a multiplier of 0.5 and the multiplier for the combo finishing attack is 2. That is taken into accoutn when calculating the minimum damage.
Therefore it is 10 for most attacks 5 for some other and so on.

Iiinteresting!

Yeah, it's been a lot harder properly documenting enemy stats in Risen than it was in Gothic 1/2.
