In my entire playthrough as a fighter, I only once encountered an enemy who used magic against me, a lizard priest that tossed a fireball. I sidestepped it, closed in, and it drew a sword to the end of the fight.
In fact, the only other time I saw magic being used at all was by an NPC that accompanied me on a mission to find some druid.
This effectively makes any protections against magic unnecessary.
For anyone that played through as a mage or warrior of the order, is it any different?
Edit: I'm not sure if the ghoul's freeze attack is considered magic.
