Greetings,

I have completed this game three times om two differnt builds, one Vista and one WIndows 7. I recently reinstalled Risen after buying the GOG version so that I could add it to Launchbox. The current build is with WIndows 10 / FX - 8350 / Sapphire Radeon RX 460 4gb / 16GB RAM.

The game crashed everytime I laoided it , until I started it in windowed mode and could set it to 1920x1080, upon which I could then boot it up at that resolution in fullscreen. I thought that I finally would be able to play it whenever, but...

I decided to load it up for a dose of nostalgia. There is a cave near the beginning beach area with hostile gnome. Normally, if Sara is with you, she would make a comment about feeling uncomfortable going near the cave.

However, I cannot get close to the cave for her to say that, for the game crashes to desktop EVERY time, in the exact same spot upon approach.

Any thoughts or ideas? This is a game that has been historically stable for me.

Had the same bug with steam version of the game. Tried fix it in different ways, until i saw yours message, or rather your computer build (you have the same video).
Latest version (18.3.1) of the video drivers fixed that bug for me!

I was having a similar issue, also on steam. I crashed every time I tried to go into the tunnel past the first pair of gnomes. After updating my AMD driver (I have an R9 390x) to 18.4.1 from 17.x I'm not longer crashing!
