I got stuck a few times so have read some (perhaps) spoilers. From what I gather, there are no permenent stats solutions, correct? I'm thinking vodoo may allow making some but I have yet to see anyone recommending saving herbs. So, should I just eat the greatly important (in Risen I) halo plants, etc, for the +1 permenent adds or hold onto them like in Risen I?

There are five different permanent potions in R2 (one for each attribute), but most (if not all) of the recipes are exclusive to the Voodoo path IIRC. Their effects are a bit less pronounced than in the other games from PB, though, as they only have a bonus of +2 (instead of +1 from eating the plants outright) to their three respective talents.

Can you make all five though? So far, my searches (I-net) have only found two formulas that would allow me via vodoo to make them. Oh, and that "halo" thing - my memory plays tricks on me - I think it's actually called "hero's crown" or something like that.

I haven't decided who to join up with as of yet. The vodoo queen offered but I said I needed to think about it. Currently mucking around the inquisition port area.

Honestly, it's been quite a few years since I last played R2, but I think that shamans / voodoo experts on most of the islands each have a recipe. I'm not sure, but I think that I missed one in my playthrough.

After a quick look in the Gamepressure Traders section, I think that you should definitely check Kapua (The Sword Coast), Emma (Antigua), Di Silva (Caldera) and Malaika (Maracai Bay). Really not sure whether I did or didn't get the fifth recipe, though.
