When installing Risen, the installer warns me that the NVIDIA PhysX version that I have installed is NEWER than the version in the installer.

I believe I have the latest version of PhysX installed from another install on the PC. Essentially, the PhysX portion of the install failed, but the game finished installing and I can launch it.

Does anyone forsee possible issues with this approach? Did anyone else encounter this issue?

I know this is an old post, but this very same thing happened to me. It’s stuck at the PhysX installation. I just quit the PhysX installation process because even after installing the latest version of PhysX, which I just did, the very same problem occurs.

Starting the game worked fine and I couldn’t notice anything different from the previous installation I had.
Same thing happened to me when I installed it last night, no issues in the time I played it so far.
Same thing just happened to me. Clean installing new NVIDIA drivers with latest version of PhysX fixed it right away. Interestingly, none of this happened with the Steam version.

I think the Steam version requires you install it manually
