I'm running into an error whenever I talk to a town guard. The came crashes with the following pop-up displayed:

gCSScriptAdmin::RunScript Stopped Running

The first time this happened I had the unofficial patch installed. I then re-installed the game sans patch, only to encounter the same problem.

This occurs during chapter two in Harbor Town.

Did I mess up installing the patch, or is this some wayward error that the patch doesn't cover?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds very much like messing up the installation of the patch.

You have one part of the patch that references another part. But that other part seems to be missing.

Are you talking about the official patch? Afaik the the version distributed by gog is allready up to date.

You could try to deinstall Risen and make sure that it's really gone completely* and then reinstall it.

* This simply means that you make sure the Risen folder in Programms or gog or what ever is deleted. don't worry save games are somewhere else.

I had installed the unofficial patch found here. It seems that was the problem. When I had uninstalled it the first time, the patch info was still there. I deleted the patch data and re-installed the game. It works like a charm now.

Thanks much!
Yeah, that makes sense. It means the binary of the unofficial patch was missing (Script_Game_Patch.dll in Risen/bin/scripts).
