Thanks, added.
Man, I wish I could get this running on XP x64.
Winrott runs when launched, and when I click Launch Winrott, it just closes and nothing happens.
Works well on XP 32 bit, but not 64.
Sigh.

Did you try running it with dosbox?

Yep. your best bet in this case is to stick with DosBox, or bother the WinROTT devs to add 64 bit.

And by WinROTTgl devs everyone means just one guy, Birger. : )
Why would I run winrott in dosbox ?
Sorry, I know nothing of dosbox, except for what it does: runs dos games in windows.
Which is the reason I have duplicate games: The original dos games, and the ones I bought from gog, because I know nothing of dosbox.
: )
I can run regular rott (gog one) in dosbox fine.
It is just winrott that doesnt work.

What error do you get with winrott? BTW, winrott is a win32 application, it doesnt run in dosbox.
One problem I have with WinRottGL is that everytime I shoot down an enemy, it auto centers the vertical viewpoint. So for example, if I I aim slightly lower to shoot an enemy, when he dies, my view suddenly jacks straight up to center again. Any idea how to get rid of this?

I've had that problem in all releases of winrottgl, albeit much less in the latest one. (1.48). I suppose the best way to avoid it is to either use the original rott.exe in dosbox, or compile icculus' rott source port. I can give you some suggestions if you dont know the method.

Have you tried the latest release of winrottgl? Can you find a log file which winrottgl generates, and post here any error messages?

Check out this beginner guide to DOSBox.
Vagabond, you forgot to close the </self-promotion> tag there in your post. ; )
