TL;DR: Already got the Dark War version, unsure of what LE has over Dark War, would like to know exactly what content and enhancements it has, and whether its worth upgrading to.

So I've already got Dark War from a sale a while back, and it definitely went onto the back burner but I've been meaning to play it. I was thinking after all the classic Dooms and/or giving Wolf3D a try, at least. I was also thinking of just cutting to the chase and playing it in WinRoTT or maybe something better instead of doing some DOSBox fiddling.

And now, here comes Ludicrous Edition to throw those simple plans into complete disarray. *Thanks*, Ludicrous Edition! (sarcasm)

I haven't picked up Ludicrous Edition yet, partly because of budget, and also because I'm not quite sure what it can offer me, someone who already has Dark War. From what I understand, both have the Dark War (natch) and Extreme content, but LE also has The Hunt Begins preloaded (which I can also get for free legally online), maybe some original content exclusive to this edition (or just not included before, I'm not sure) and some beta content restored, though I'm not sure what that entails (apparently, its female soldiers? Are they just added to the original levels?).

I would also be getting a massive graphical overhaul, I know that, but can I get something similar or on the same level as I would in WinRoTT or another source port? I mean, with other companies, I'm kinda used to the unofficial experience being better than the official one (see Sega or Nintendo), so I'd definitely like to know if something similar is happening here.

Those are my main thoughts, but if there are any other pluses to getting Ludicrous Edition, or even minuses, I'd love to hear them.
