hudfreegamer: I'm using GL WinRott, so it might be a little different, but the save games should be in the game directory along with the game. I have three saves which are named:
rotfgam0.rot
rotfgam1.rot
rotfgam2.rot
Actually, I recommend backing up all of the .rot files, since they all pertain to your character, saves, scores, etc.
GL WinRott (and maybe the original game) also saves a screenshot to go along with each save game. In my case they're named:
glfpre0..bmp
glfpre1..bmp
glfpre2..bmp
I recommend just copying the whole directory though. Unless you're using a floppy disk, it's just easier. The whole game with GL WinRott included is only 56 megs.
The GOG version does not include the source port GL WinRott. You download that separately. It uses the original game and replaces textures with higher resolution versions, allows mouse look, and supports widescreen. The game itself is exactly the same.
If you want Gl WinRott, you can find it here:
http://www.riseofthetriad.dk/DL_GlROTT.htm I have found the saves, although they were not in the game directory. Maybe because it was an old version.
I'll check out GL WinRott.
