OK, I feel like the run button is pressed all the time.
I know the characters have their own speed but even Ian is moving like he is sliding all over the place.

The controls menu says nothing about a run toggle button.
Am I missing something or is this natural?
The game really is that fast. Try Doug Wendt, I think he's the slowest and the beefiest character.

Most early 90s FPSes were known for having nonsensically fast runspeeds. ROTT 2013 is meant to be a throwback to these oldschool shooters, so you shouldn't be surprised to be to able to move this fast in this game.
On my first boot up of the game, I felt like I was moving too fast. I quit and then went back in and with the same character (Taradino) it felt much smoother and better. No idea what was different about that first run but subsequent runs since have been fine.
Yeah, I actually played a lot of the old FPS games but here I felt like the run toggle is always on.
Like you would hold Shift the whole time in the original ROTT or in Doom :)

I guess I just need to try again and get used to it!

Thanks for the responses guys. It is more civilized here than when I asked on Steam :D

i am all for old school and i love it. but for the single player part feels like it is to fast because i explore for secret and wanna take it slow. but lowering the FOV helped a lot. but this is a great game

I dunno, I get frustrated with games that have less than 100ish FOV these days. I love how I can make it 120. So awesome.
After playing it for a few hours it feels allot better the speed.
Make sure you do the mouse tweaks that are on the steam forum because they make aiming so much better.
