I'm fine with animations being there as long as I never have to reload but it seems sometimes at the start of a checkpoint it forces you to reload for no apparent reason which is super annoying.

I have noticed I occasionally autoreload, and thinking back it does seem to happen only at the start of checkpoints

Thrasher1984: No wonder you didn't figure it out in the first place (neither did I) because the animation for that "steal move" is ridiculously bad. The enemy soldier just "magically" slides back and forward really quick. Some guy on another forum even thought this was some kind of bug/clipping issue.
IMO they could at least have done a proper script event where the enemy soldier struggles for a moment to pull the weapon out of your hands or they could have left it out entirely.
I've actually gotten used to it, and somewhat enjoy it now - now that I've realized what the enemy is doing. It mixes it up, in my opinion. Perhaps the devs could have slowed down the enemy, though? To allow for dodging and potentially preventing the enemy from stealing the weapon. Although, I'm not entirely sure, at the moment, how that might affect the fast nature of the game.IMO they could at least have done a proper script event where the enemy soldier struggles for a moment to pull the weapon out of your hands or they could have left it out entirely.

I like weapon reloading. It'd be unfair without it because even NPCs run outta ammo and reload their guns.

Raven-Valor95: I've talked to Aaron Alexander(one of the developers on this game) about reloading, and they said during development they had it so you reloaded, but removed it because it slowed the pace of the game down too much, so they just decided to scrap reloading, but left in the reload animations for those who like to reload(plus the animations are cool as fuck, especially on the dual pistols)
I sort of assumed it was a troll move. If so, it was a brilliant one. I spent the first few levels dutifully reloading after every firefight until I suddenly realized that there was no magazine counter or anything. I felt pretty silly :3
