I've done it! And it's fun!
Get:
WinROTT
Hamachi
Configuring WinROTT
Just configure it to your liking, whatever you want to play ROTT with and stuff.
Configuring Hamachi
# Run the program, and proceed through its setup wizard.
# Before connecting to a network, click the bottom right button (a gear icon), click preferences.
# Hit 'System' on the left, make sure 'Do not use Universal Plug and Play' is checked.
# To ensure you will properly connect to our network, Hamachi will need to be your top priority network connection. Have no fear, this does NOT affect your Internet connection in any way.
1. Click the start menu button, go to run/search, and type in 'ncpa.cpl'
2. Hit alt, and a menu will pop down, click Advanced-Advanced settings.
3. In the box, you will see your network connections, arrow Hamachi to the highest spot. Again, this will not affect your Internet connection in any way.
You are now ready to join a network. Feel free to make a network for whatever game you want to play. I recommend making a network similar to the format of this: GOG ROTT, with password GOG.
Playing ROTT
Join the network as the rest of your friends. Have one person host. You will be connecting to his IP.
Start up WinROTT.
The host will set up the game properly, set the settings/map, etc.
Host: Check Netplay, select Internet TCP/IP, enter your IP, click host. Set the game up.
Client: Check Netplay, select Internet TCP/IP, enter host's IP. The server will pop up. Join.
And that's pretty much it! Have fun.
