Hello GoG community!

I think it's worth bringing this to your attention.

I recently had an email from some random company called GamingGrids.net. It said something about creating an account for me. Something about gaming for real money.

Alarm bells were immediately ringing at this point as...

A. I've never heard of these guys.
B. I never sign up to anything involving "real money" unless absolutely necessary.

First thing I did was go to the GamingGrids Facebook page and ask how they got my details, they said "it came from our partners at Rise of the Triad, a game you play." (see attached for proof)

I told them to close my account and remove my details.

In hindsight perhaps I should have been a bit calmer about the situation, but hey, I don't want to be signed up for "real money" services I don't want.

Has anybody else had this?

Yes. Can't say I very happy about it.

Yes. See this thread.

Someone from Apogee has also posted there explaining what happened. No accounts were actually created (or so they say), it was an accidental automated email to everyone with a Rise of the Triad account.
Yes.
I too asked to be removed.
This game is a poor excuse for a game to begin with and now that they are selling my info to a 3rd party?
Never again will I buy anything from these devs.
