Hi

I'm having some trouble connecting to multiplayer games. It used to work, I played a couple of games when I first got it, but now every time I try to join a match it lets me select my character, starts connecting, I see a loading screen then boots me straight back to the main menu. Any idea what could be causing this? I'm logging in, so it's not on offline mode.

They updated the multiplayer servers to a new version and pushed the update via steam but the updater for the GOG version didn't work so we're all dead in the water until until they fix it. They're working on it so should be soon.

ah ok, so it's not just me. Thanks :)

shame they don't just drop a patch installer in exe format for us to download and update regardless of where we bought it from... like the old days...

agreed I am having the same issue...so if they did it for steam and not us then does that mean we won't be able to play multiplayer with whoever bought the game from steam? lol just curious
Yes, until we get the patch they are all playing multi and we are not. Definitely sucks that Steam got it first, they should have waited until both were ready for sure. But it's a small dev team and maybe they just went for the bigger audience to silence them. I'd like to think those of us over here at GOG are a little more reasonable about things. Hopefully they learn from this and don't make the same mistake again. You can go over to the official forums and track the progress, they've been posting regularly and apologizing and saying they are working hard to get the patch to us.
this is from their forum

"We're having issues getting the patch out to GoG users. We're currently trying to resolve this issue with GoG and their patching servers."

aka they blaming GOG...
couldnt someone say... create a listen server call it "FOR GOG USERS" and have all of us play on that until it got patched? If I get my new internet connection (current one is crap) before they fix it, I'll try hosting sometimes.

Just for everyone's info: The gentleman that made the statement on the interceptor forums was incorrectly informed, and he apologized for the confusion. Apparently, the patching servers and patching system is done by a third party, and they officially do not blame GOG.
nevertheless it's ridiculous that all GOG Users can't play online anymore because the update still didn't roll out via their auto updater after like 5 (?) days.

I totally agree with ya, man. It seems to me like they don't want to decide to go the 'easy route' right now because they have a piece in place that is supposed to work and they are being stubborn about it.

Or maybe they are waiting because they are so close to getting the next patch (beyond 1.0.1) in play but they are not telling us. It's all conjecture. We don't know the whole story, of course.

In any event, at what cost will they continue to delay the patch? I've seen games like this go quickly by the wayside in these kinds of situations. 1 to 2 weeks (2 weeks is stretching it, too) is all they have to resolve this issue, in my estimation. Otherwise they've lost the multi-player people.

and me, I'm a nutty one: Even though there are both single and multi-player modes, I tend to wait until the patch comes out before I play single player mode again.

What is really frustrating is that my son has the Steam version and I don't.

You let your son buy a game available on GoG for Steam!? Talk about bad parenting...
This is getting ridiculous, thinking about asking for a refund. We've been unable to play this great game online for a relatively long time now, unacceptable
this wouldnt be so bad if we just had a couple of "for gog" servers on the old version
I'm really dissapointed by this. I don't know why it takes so long to give us the 1.0.1. update. And if they think that it is better to not give us the updated - instead let us wait for a 1.1. and then update - I will lose all respect.
