HI,
The GOG version of Rime is currently 1.02. The Steam version was patch today to 1.04.

When will this version be patched on GOG? Are the developers ignoring GOG patching again like with other games?

Answer from support:

"Thank you for your feedback.
I have forwarded this issue to our Product team.
They will contact developer about missing patch.
Unfortunately, I do not have an ETA for patch 1.04."
It's July 26th now and GOG still doesn't offer patch 1.04. There is not even an official explanation. And Rime isn't the only game with missing patches. The Signal from Tōlva is mossing one, too. I really like GOG and I always prefer buying games on GOG over any other platform, but I wonder if I should continue this approach. It surely looks like I would be better off buying on Steam. My money seems to be worth less on GOG...
^Didn't you see the message from support? the developer hasn't given GOG the patch
Yeah - I'm like, I like both GOG and Steam and try to spread my game purchases both sites, sometimes even buying a game twice to get a DRM-free version. But if a lot of stuff like this happens I will maybe think twice before purchasing on GOG, which would be bad, as we really need the competition in the market.

And in this case, it's not really GOGs fault as they have not received a patch from the developers. Maybe they didn't sell as well on GOG as they (the devs) wanted to and have decided to ignore it. If so it would really be a sucky move from the devs.

I think GOG should be a LOT stricter with developers, and ensure that if they are allowed to sell on GOG, they also commit themselves to giving their customers proper support on the forums and ensure patches are coming just like on other platforms. This needs to be legally binding so GOG can put some pressure on developers to support their (and GOGs) customers.

/rant mode off.

Let's hope the patch will be here soon, I want to play another time through, but with better performance as promised in the patches.

So it's settled then or what? So it's not GOG's fault, eh? I didn't buy the game from the developers but from GOG. Why isn't GOG demanding the patch from the developers? Are GOG customers second grade? Is our money worth less than the money of Steam users? That seems not right to me. I would expect GOG to increase the pressure on those developers. If they can deliver patches to steam, I expect them to deliver patches to all their channels of distribution including GOG.

GOG, do something!
I hope the latest patch will be delivered! I just bought the game and was surprised that it was not updated...
Waiting for it to be fixed.
This is exaclty the reason why I hardly buy any recent games via GoG - the devs seem to treat GoG as second class all too often.
I'd love to support DRM free games and GoG instead of almost exclusively spending my game money on steam, but at the end of the day that's just not happening as long as the versions are not treated equally.
Currently RiME is 26,29€ on GoG in my region and it comes with 6,30€ additional Wallet Funds which would really make it a great deal compared to steam's 34,99€ but as long as the patch level lacks behind like this I'm just not going to buy it here.

Hey friends,

Sorry for the delay, we just deployed the 1.04 Patch of GOG. We wanted to include Achievements and Galaxy support.

If you have any questions please let me know!

Thank you Tim, good to hear! :)
RiME_Tim, thank you for updating two months later because better late than never. :P
I've just one simple question: how to change the language of main game menu in the new version without using Galaxy client? In previous version 1.02 it was Start menu -> RiME [GOG.com] -> Language Setup. But now it doesn't work (there isn't that icon in the Start menu), and even if I run language_setup.exe from the game folder it just can't opened. Of course, I didn't stop there, and by analogy with the game "Little Nightmares", where there was also no choice of language in the main menu, opened the file goggame-1553712069.info by a text editor and replaced the line "language" from "English" to preferred one. But I think this method can be difficult for an unprepared user, right?
Anyway much obliged to all your team again for your magnificient creation of dreams. ¡Buena suerte!
