According to the game's own homepage that's also the 9th of october. According to the indiegames blog that's the releasedate for PC, PS3 and PS Vita. Xbox and Wii are still not confirmed.

Since the release date has been labelled for months as "The game is done, just minor fixes and paperwork" (guessing paperwork is console certification) I guess someone got tired of waiting for Microsoft and Nintendo dragging their heels and saying "To hell with a simultaneous release"
