Changelog for update 1.55 (GOG-30 Windows) / 1.55A (GOG-4 Linux) (added 08 February 2016):

Linux:
- corrected the framerate locking which occurred with some Linux graphics drivers.

- added more pre-mapped controller bindings.
- The newly added XInput support means that Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers should work better, and all other XInput compatible controllers will now be automatically detected and pre-mapped. Although they're pre-mapped, you can remap them however you like.
- As for other controllers, these non-XInput compatible controllers still use DirectInput. For your convenience, RCR automatically pre-maps 42 different DirectInput controllers, but you can also remap them however you like.
- Don't worry if yours isn't listed. It just means you need to map it yourself.

The game doesn't seem to recognize the ps4 controller. :/
Blows dust off thread.

GOG really likes to move and shake with that preservation program failing to keep anything resembling changelogs, so here, direct from the vapor store:

v2.10 CHANGES | 2024/11/14

New Audio Engine (Windows)
Replaced DirectSound with XAudio2 for improved performance and compatibility.

DirectX Renderer (Windows)
Fixed re-initialization errors that could occur when switching modes.

Leaderboards
If leaderboards appear to be unavailable (ie. if you're offline), the game will no longer continuously attempt to read them. This should improve performance when playing offline.

Button Icons
Although the game auto-detects most popular game controllers, you can now manually choose a specific button icon style (PlayStation or Xbox style icons) from the menu.

More Controller Support
PS5 controllers are now automatically detected and no longer need to be calibrated.
Added support for more game controllers on macOS and Linux.

Overscan Mode
The overscan setting is now saved to settings, so you no longer need to set it each time you launch the game.

Apple M1+ Support (macOS)
Now built for Apple Silicon (as well as Intel).
Fixed an issue where the game could run too fast on newer machines.
Fixed an issue where audio may not work correctly on newer machines.

Steamworks Upgraded
Upgraded the Steam versions to the latest Steamworks SDK

Misc. Bug Fixes
Most importantly, it fixes an issue caused by collecting weapon truck keys during some missions expecting a different key.
