Hello !
UPDATE ]I[: The Steam version works fine for me, it's numbered 1.53 which is the same as the one here on GOG (though the archive is numbered 1.0.0.2). I'm confused.
UPDATE, PART DEUX: Another player on the gaseous form of water forum reports "Doesn't start on Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit". Oh noes.
UPDATE: The Steam linux version (possibly the same?) is also affected by the same symptoms. The mystery deepens.
I just found out there's a linux port, so I happily downloaded it from my library, ungtar'd, and ran it. Alas, I only have a black screen with the mouse cursor.
$ ./start.sh
Running Retro City Rampage DX
Retro City Rampage starting...
support/gog_com.shlib: line 199: 9624 Killed ./"${bin_64}"
I have to remotely kill it, as I can't switch to other windows (I can probably switch to a ttyx though), can't xkill it. I would gladly dive in the shell scripts on a brighter day. I'm not sure where to look.
Any idea? I suspect it's looking for the appropriate path and can't find it, but I couldn't figure out how to fix it. I also tried to manually run the execute_game function and try other x86_64 paths, but no dice.
