v1.1.5 here is from 2021, while the steam version has been getting updates every now and then, the last one earlier this month (april 2024). fuck this dev.

yeah, it was probably because of that, as I also mentioned their lack of gog support on steam.

however, the game is still a mess and not the least bit recommendable. horrible controls and ui, crashes without autosaves, etc. there's manual saving and I normally spam it just in case but I was just trying to figure stuff out when a crash happened and next time I was put back to the very beginning, character selection and all. would be unacceptable in early access, let alone a full release patched a bunch of times (elsewhere) over the years.
