That's the way its suppose to look.

The background art in Resident Evil 1 and 2 is rendered at 320x240.

This Pc version back in the day using CRT monitors it was very sharp. It wasn't designed for computers of today. This does not stray far if at all minus some quirks from the original PC version I own.

If you haven't yet, make sure to open dxcfg.exe and change the Scaling Method from Screen fit to Integer scaling, if ever using full screen. Made it look better for me.
I have exactly the same issue. That's not supposed to look like this at all. (see pictures). Anyone who says that, is completly wrong.
Anyone can help us?
Thank you by advance.

It is supposed to look like the official RE Gog trailer(at least for the intro.)
My intro is highly pixelated compared to them.
Yeah, what gives? You'd think the game was originally developed in 1996 or something!

Thank you for your reply. I was wrong, it's exactly how it should run.
I am now happy and relieved that my game has no problem.

Thanks to everyone.

You can use Reshade to mimic a crt display, select retroarch shaders and install them, them on the game press home key and select the crt-pi shader for example.

Pixelated or blurred (the trailer) - it's all a matter of preference. What doesn't change is that it's low resolution because it's an old game.

I was watching the trailer on my phone (small screen). I realized it was the same resolution when I saw it on my PC.
Thank you again.

Thanks for the info. I might try this in the future but for the moment I'm just going to appreciate my game because I am happy to know my copy has no issue (I just thought my it wasn't functionning properly).

Thank you.
