Installing those mods game give me an error. Invalid CD key. Any thoughts?
Original sourcenext version require CD key so I think you need it since Classic Rebirth use the same exe.

EDIT:: I try with the key and the game asks about CD for missing contents.

For RE2, I think we need some experts. It didn't work out of the box like RE.

OK, I got a solution.
Install this over gog RE2 works. My game boot now with REbirth.
Unofficial SourceNext 1.1.0 conversion patch for RE2 Windows 95-98
Thank god for Classic Rebirth.

Can't believe GOG screwed the consumer and didn't give us the version that works on without jumping through hoops.

Made it easier to fix the cutscene FPS too. Maybe I could have without rebirth I don't know, but who on earth thought it was a good idea to include the versions with the eye hurting FPS cutscenes.

That's just bad customer service to inflict that on us willingly when better options existed.

Does this also change the lack of autoaim in one of the control schemes?

I have the autoaim by default. Well, with the patch and the exe turn the game into sourcenext version, I think it would.
The unofficial SourceNext mod works, so that's great. But just out of curiosity, is this like the first Resident Evil GOG release where the Japanese version is the SourceNext version by default, or is the conversion mod pretty much required for RE2 no matter which language installer you use?

If you're just running the SourceNext version... what's even the point of having this version?
tnx for suggest SourceNext version but i have a problem...
The keyboard doesn't work, do you have any suggestions?

I can get the game to run with classic rebirth but seamless hd does not upscale the backgrounds or item portraits when you inspect the cutscenes look great tho

So you don't have to pirate SourceNext version? Since GOG version can be bought within 3 minutes.

And Classic Rebirth (right now) require only SourceNext version, so yeah, we have to convert GOG version to SourceNext version if we want to use it.

It works but unfortunately the classic rebirth dll doesn't recognise gog executable so you can't boot the game from gog galaxy or the official shortcut, this is not really a problem tho. The real problem is the way it manages the save files, it seems to use a different folder by default, so gog galaxy cloud saves probably won't work either. Honestly I just wished gog would let us decide if we want to download the og ports or sourcenext.

That's an easy fix.
1. Move savedata folder somewhere
2. Open cmd as admin
3. cd to the path of the game
4. type this in cmd.
mklink /d "savedata" "Saves"
5. Done. Until some experts make a better fix.
