Is there a fix for this? I'm on Windows 10.

Edit: the problem seems to be with the game's "ddraw.dll" file. By installing dgVoodoo 2 AND renaming ddraw.dll, I was able to get it running by checking the option "Disable and passthru to real DirectX" under the DirextX tab. But it's not a viable/real solution, as the game only plays in a tiny window (won't run at all in fullscreen) no matter what the resolution is, and some of the backgrounds aren't displayed properly.

I am having the same issue. I was able to play 4th survivor and extreme battle once but every time I launch the game now it crashes after the gore warning screen as well.

Have the same issue, I've raised a ticket to support and I'm waiting if they will be able to help.

If I reinstall / repair the game, I can play the other modes, but my game is crashing after the intro with slides. After that, I have crash after content warning.

I've tried to install K-lite codec pack but it actually made things worse as RE2 started to crashing after content warning every time, no matter if I reinstall / repair the game.

IMO it is somehow FMV related, but why Capcom logo is diplayed after the fresh installation and why I always get a crash when I reach the intro when Leon is meeting Claire - I have no idea.

I saw a post where someone tried the Classic REBirth SourceNext DLL file which would get the game running in windowed view with minor graphical bugs.

Can confirm this works! I tried switching back to the GOG DLL file after making it to the police station and saving and was able to play the game in full screen until the Licker FMV played then the game crashed to desktop. Switched back to the REBirth DLL and played past the licker FMV and saved and switched back to the GOG DLL and played again until the unicorn medallion FMV crashed again. Looks like the GOG DLL file is the part of the problem with FMVs.

If you know where all the FMVs take place one could save and quit and keep swapping DLL files to beat the game...

IF you start crashing to desktop after the content warning splash screen try the repair/verify feature in GOG.

Was having the same issue but this fixed it for me. Go into "video settings" right after hitting play. Under "presentation" I set it to Fullscreen. I think I have to do it just about every time but it's better than nothing.

Surprised no one tried this yet but what fixed it for me was simply disabling Galaxy ingame overlay.
