I didn't install any mod but also can't get inventory to open. I tried every key and remapping control ( i guess it s supposed to be sub-menu) but nothing worked so i can't get access to my gun and objects, .only the options is showing.
Same here. Remapping controller buttons or trying the keyboard both result in the options menu opening when trying to get into the inventory.
Same here. And I've had to uninstall and reinstall the game a few times because it wouldn't launch. How do we let the GOG support know this?
I relaunched the game and this time it worked without a problem...
From galaxy or the shortcut in the folder also.
What an odd bug.
Same here. Worked on first launch. On subsequent sessions, the options screen perfectly recognizes my controller and lets me properly map it, but the in-game inventory doesn't work. No matter where i map it, it only opens the options menu.

I had the same Issue. Restarting the PC did solve it.

Also using the Keyboard caused to Open the Options instead the Inventory, even if clearly mapped.

I wanted to test it out on a new Game, as the Key Mapping is saved on your Save File, but there the two ID Cards were moving constantly.1

Every imaginable Program was closed, from Steam over Galaxy to Firefox.
On the Controller Options from Windows (were you can also calibrate Controllers), the Buttons worked all fine and as they should.
Also tested other Controllers, connected via Bluetooth and pure USB ones.

I did play beforehead the Turtles Cowabunga Collection, so i can only imagine that some Games do use some kind of Wrapper or else and can Confuse the Input even after they are closed.
