Hey all. Hoping to get some help on this. I got the first resident evil on gog and set up the classic rebirth and seamless HD properly. Game runs a ok with it, but when I go to save, the entire thing crashes. Any idea why?

Is there a specific way to install these patches/mods for the GOG version?
I have tried to apply the Seamless mod and it does not work, I follow all the steps indicated in the YouTube tutorials, but for some reason the mod does not work. Plays the rescaled videos in high quality, but the stages and title screen are still displayed in low resolution.
Could the GOG team negotiate with the Seamless HD Mod team to get the mod installed in the game by default?
Are you having really bad visual glitches? If so then it's AMD related sadly I gave up on playing with this mod due to my AMD card not agreeing with the game regardless of VGVoodoo settings.
These problems can be fixed with updates to the Drivers, the curious thing is that I have tested the game on a Mini PC with a Ryzen 7 with integrated graphics and I have not had those graphic errors.
I played up to being able to save, it is working for me. The only thing it didn't like was my PS5 controller. I hit R1, it opened the button config menu, and nothing would respond. Switched to my XB1 controller and it works.
Okay, it isn't working. With Classic Rebirth + Seamless HD installed, when I open the door to the east hallway from the statue with the map room, it gives me the following error:

Couldn't find file horr/jpn/stage1/room1081.rdt

I checked and I don't have this folder. Uninstalled, reinstalled, played with just the base game installed. No error entering this room. Reinstall Classic Rebirth + Seamless HD, get the error message opening this door.

Any ideas? It looks *way* better with the HD mod.

EDIT: It's definitely something with the HD mod. When I only install Classic Rebirth, it loads that area fine. If I install the HD mod (before Seamless), it gives me the error after opening that door, and installing Seamless doesn't fix it.

When you're "installing" the HD mod, are you dragging and dropping the folders with the files into the destination folder and then choosing to replace the files? I ask because I've had trouble with this in the past that resulted in missing files. Basically, when I was doing it, if I dragged folders over, it would replace the folder as a whole without replacing the specific files in the folder and leaving the files that weren't to be replaced.

I hope that makes sense. I just had a similar issue when I was installing the HD mod on top of my RE2 install back i the day.

What I had to do was go through each folder in the HD mod and manually drop the files in, replacing all the ones that were to be replaced, while ensuring the files that weren't going to be replaced remained. So, after all the files are transferred in this way, then the file that is normally missing is still there.

Again, I hope this makes sense. I have a hard time articulating this.

It is copying the files over fine, the issue is the HD mod (not the Seamless, the one before that) zip from moddb doesn't have this folder. Is there somewhere else I'm supposed to get it?

When you're dealing with a fresh install of the game with no mods, is the file there?
No. It does not create a jpn folder, and there is no horr folder under usa.

And sometimes, after I install HD, that install no longer detects a controller ingame. So HD mod is all kinds of incompatible with the GOG version.

Hmmm... Yeah. Maybe jump on their discord. I've seen some talk about getting the GOG version up and running.
So the GOG installation doesn't put those files there officially. If you find a way to get those files there, it still gives the error message like it can't find the file. So I think it's an incompatibility with HD mod and GOG version right now. Just using Classic Rebirth is no problem (or at least, I can open and enter that room this way).
