So I install the game, Japanese Version like you're supposed to, Install the Classic Rebirth and the dll File needed to get it to go, I start the game, get to the main menu but the screen just freezes on anywhere I skip the FMV of the camera following Chris, the game itself isn't frozen as I can still access the options but when I get past that menu the screen goes black only showing little blots where letters are in some words on screen. Has anyone figured this out yet? Or even RUN INTO this problem?

The black blotches is fixable and a common problem with certain AMD GPUs. The fix for it is not readibly hosted anywhere; you need a certain old version of dgvoodoo2 with specific edits. If you download "Resident Evil Containment" by Aydan Watkins, there is a folder called "Graphics Patch" that has it and will work.

But that doesn't answer the freezing. You probably did something wrong. Not enough info to go off

I had the same issue. The screen where you select New Game Load Game did not show up right. ANYWAY...
the fix is downloading that Resident Evil Containment mod and taking the files in the Graphics Patch folder and move them into the game folder. Rebirth works for me now LETS GOOOO

Glad you got it. If you need it for re2 or re3, you just gotta rename that "re_ddraw.dll" to "re2_ddraw.dll", etc. This also allows the use of Reshade if you're into that.

Sorry there isn't an easier way to download it, but Containment is an amazing mod you should play anyway : P
