A bit of a general question.
I've played a game or three with the "roguelike" option selected. Basically one save and that's it. I've noticed, however that the game will often keep a save, after I "die" at the TIME I die but from the START of when I was playing. An example: Tonight I started playing from a save state. I died at about ~11PM - the game has a "Load" option with a timestamp of 11PM, but it's from the start of the night.
So, if I quit and save a game, does that mean even if I die I'll have a save from when I quit? Or is it an error and that save should have been deleted?
Also, if I'm in the "roguelike" save mode - is there even a point to saves? I'm assuming it's logging data on when my followers can become Expedition Leaders. So even if I die and lose the game, if I never have a single save beyond my current game I shouldn't be losing anything correct?
Thanks for reading, sorry if my questions are a bit obtuse but I was just curious of the importance of saves when playing in the roguelike mode, and whether I could quit out at times to get a "backup" single save. Thanks!
