I got this on Steam but haven't had a chance to play it yet. Is it at all like the ios/Android game Star Command? I played that on my phone and tablet and didn't like it very much. It looked great but didn't play all that well and was way too short and it didn't have any paid for add ons. Is Redshirt more of that or is it much better?

I think the only similarity between the two games is that they're both set in space.

Redshirt is a social simulator first and foremost. You play a new recruit on a space station, doing really grunt work. So the goals of the game are to climb through the work ranks, better your skills, form relationships with the other crew and the occasional visitor (and maybe find love along the way), etc. This you have to do with very limited actions per day... and if you neglect people, they get annoyed/angry with you (as you might expect).

I found it a pretty fun game. Quite different from most games on here.
