This is considerably odd given my usual experience with games run in DOSBox. When I run my old retail copies of Shadow Warrior and Duke Nukem 3D, as well as the demo of Blood in DOSBox with its default configuration, they run perfectly.

However, all the games in the Redneck Rampage Collection and Duke Nukem 3D Atomic have severe performance problems (as in <10 FPS) in their GoG versions. I'm wondering if this is a problem with their DOSBox config file or if it's just a weird fluke. Anyone else having this issue? Note that it's worse with Redneck Rampage than Duke Nukem.

According to this you seem to have some experience with DOSBox.
Have you tried replacing gog's dosbox config files with the default one that comes with dosbox?

Another thing that might work is to "merge" both gog's and the default config files. The only thing special about the config file for RR can be found at the bottom (a few lines trying to execute some other files/scripts).

That worked. I didn't know if there was some obscure setting in the config file that would've screwed something up or not, so I never tried replacing the whole config. Thanks!

Hopefully, you can now enjoy this game as much as I did!
I am not very familar with Dosbox, but i am having the same problem as the gentlemen above, so how would i go about merging the new dosbox config files with the old GOG dosbox files to make the game run smoother
I'm trying to run this on Linux under Wine and the game is too slow to be playable. I have the Linux version of DOSBox installed and I'm wondering if there's any way to use that directly, rather than have Wine run the Windows version of DOSBox, adding another layer of complexity into the mix. Maybe if I can get Wine out, I can get the game to run better. Any ideas?
