I've seen a few posts about music volume and having just finished the game myself thought I'd post this fix so that other new comers would have the option of enjoying the music instead of being overwhelmed by it and forced to turn it off.
Ok so what you need to do is open dosboxRR.conf in notepad or whatever text editor you use and add this line "mixer cdaudio 25:25" after "imgmount d ".\Redneck.inst" -t iso -fs iso"
The 25:25 is the volume percentage for the left and right speakers. I find a value between 15 and 25 works nicely allowing you to hear the sound effects but still enjoy the music.

dosboxRR_settings

It's dosboxRR_settings not dosboxRR
Actually, it's dosboxRR_single not dosboxRR_settings (also need to add the line to dosbox66, and dosboxRA). Also, I think 37:37 works fine, 25 was too low, imo.

Just to be sure, do I have to add the line at a specific place in dosbox66? And how about dosboxRA; I can't find a file with that name.
Have you tried editing the REDNECK.CFG file to adjust the music volume? The default setting has the music volume at "200." Try lowering it down to 100 or 50 so it says:

MusicVolume = 100

Edit: It looks like editing REDNECK.CFG isn't enough. dabski's method seems to work, but you have to add the "mixer cdaudio 25:25" line to the "dosboxRR_single.conf" file to lower down the music volume.

I tried everything, but the music still louder. I think I go to uninstall the game... :(

EDIT: I put the "mixer cdaudio 25:25" in some of the archives, and now works. Thanks a lot!
