The music will not turn off permanently.I have tried to edit the redneck.cfg file by making musictoggle = 0 and musicvolume = 0 but I have had no luck. Thanks for the help!

I think you can turn off the music from within the game, in game not on the menu, then look in sound options, 8-track player.
As for the .cfg, what OS are you on ? If you're on Vista/Win7 try running Notepad as Admin to edit the file, or cut the cfg file from the game folder to your desktop, edit it there and then place it back in the game folder.

Unfortunatly this did not work :(.Btw im running windows vista 64bit.If there is any other needed info to fix this please tell me.Thanks for your reply.
Look for your gog redneck rampage folder within your start menu and it should have a setup file. Right click that and run it as administrator and then change the music from what it is to a device driver that doesn't work at all. You can test them within the program to see which one produces no sound.

Oddly enough, there is no music option on redneck rampage...Is there an update or something?Something I found in the "redneck rampage help file" which may be helpful is that the game originally ran its music from a cd.So,if there might be a way to delete these files or if dosbox runs a folder as if it were a cd then I may able to delete that entry in the config file that dosbox runs when playing a game.If anyone has an idea on where to find either of those it would be very cool to let us know :D.

EDIT:
AHA!!! Ive found it!.My theory was correct.
This following entry was used in order to act as if you had the redneck rampage music cd in your computer:
imgmount d ".\Redneck.inst" -t iso -fs iso'
-----------------------------------------
You could either delete the file "Redneck.inst"(back it up if needed).

or delete the entry which is found in the files:
dosboxRR.conf
dosboxRR_client.conf
dosboxRR_server.conf
dosboxRR_setup.conf

Its expansion pack "Suckin' Grits on Route 66":
dosbox66.conf
dosbox66_client.conf
dosbox66_server.conf
dosbox66_setup.conf

and finally the other expansion pack "Redneck Rides Again":
dosboxRA.conf
dosboxRA_client.conf
dosboxRA_server.conf
dosboxRA_setup.conf

Use "Ctrl + f" to find that entry more easily.
-----------------------------------------
I would recommend to back up this code in a notepad and place that notepad file in redneck rampage's directory or one of your choice.

It's good that you got it working, but i really can't understand why editing the musictoggle value in the cfg didn't work.
And you don't have a setup shortcut in the game's start menu folder ?

No I do have one. However, in the setup there is no music soundcard option/volume option.Heres a screenshot:

I've got to the point now where I can't play the game without the music in the background! I'm lovin' it to be honest.
"Out past Mars ain't no speed limiiiiit"!!
I have to agree with morhlis. The music can be annoying at times, but often it's the best part of the game. I would have never heard of the Beat Farmers without this game.
This does work. I just renamed the REDNECK.inst file to xREDNECK.inst and the music is no longer there by default.
If you want to be careful, don't delete the line completely. Just turn it into a comment by putting # at the beginning of the line:

# mgmount d ".\Redneck.inst" -t iso -fs iso'

That way, if you want it back, or you've edited the wrong line, it's easy to get it back. (You might want to put another comment right above it, reminding you what change you made, when and why.)
