Hi all,
I am trying to setup a joystick and its not working. I have a logitech extreme 3D pro. I have used the "launch settings" from the start menu (win7). When the game starts the joystick either doesn't move at all or only moves to the left.

I played this game in the 90s with a joystick and would like to make it work again.

Any help greatly appreciated,
Rob
Some things I've tried:

- tried both the logitech extreme 3D pro and the Sidewinder FF2 - both are doing the same things - not working (only move to the left)
- tried moving the throttle to full up, midway and down - not helping
- tried changing setting in the "launch settings" - tried plain joystick, flight stick and thrustmaster - nothing works.
- found an old joystick - Gravis Destroyer (still new in box, bought it years ago) and connected it with a gameport to USB adapter I had sitting around - win7 did not find the joystick.

so I am frustrated - any help appreciated,
Rob
Hello, open your Redneck Rampage folder,
like
C:\GOG Games\Redneck Rampage Collection\Redneck Rampage
Open the file "Launch Settings"

There is a part for the controllers, i have never tried it but it should work if you configure it with the dos setup!

Also, you have the "Advanced Setup Control Options" to config some other things, i hope It will work, good luck ! :)
Groundmanexe - thanks for the help - tried that and it doesn't help. (including the advanced setup).

I went out and bought a Rockfire gameport to USB adapter - thinking that may help. I connected my old gravis destroyer (very simple joystick) and it shows up in "devices and printers." (win7) I can verify that the joystick can be calibrated and works.

I run RR - go thru the setup (menu, GOG, redneck rampage, launch settings). Tried a number of setting there - including the advanced setup.

I start the game - it notices a joystick is installed - click button to center, upper left, click button, lower right, click button...

The game starts and I can only move to the left and forward. Moving right and/or backwards does nothing. The firing button does work however.

So I am hoping that someone out there has some way of making this work. I've tried three different joysticks, two different gameport-> USB adapters and every setting I can find.

I am on the verge of giving up and getting an old P4 out of the basement and finding my old RR CDs wherever they may be.

Any help greatly appreciated,
Rob

I'm not technically inclined enough to answer but I do know that that stick can work - it's what I used when I played the game (a lot) several years ago. Do you have the latest Logitech driver for it (or, maybe that's what killed it)?

thanks for the reply. When you say you used a joystick with RR a few years ago - was that the GOG version? I had used joysticks with RR way back in the 90s with no problem - but that was the original non-gog version..

What's strange is that I have no joystick problems with any other games - just this one. And its every joystick I've tried - the MS Sidewinder FF 2, the logitech extreme 3D pro and the gravis destroyer. So I doubt this this is a driver issue with all 3 sticks...

Thanks,
Rob

I have both - used a different stick from logitech with the original (Win98 machine) then the Extreme Pro with that and the GoG version (WinXP machine).
