Does anyone know how to enable both the cheat keys and the 8-track player?
I already tried putting the original CD in before starting the game (I own all of the old DOS versions) but it wouldn't play it.
And none of the cheat keys seem to work in this version. It makes me feel a bit ripped off. The cheat keys are half the fun! =^.^=;;
Thanks in advance,
BobKat

Cheats are working for me.
For the music :
-find your dosbox config file (for redneck rampage : "dosboxRR.conf")
-Find "[autoexec]" at the end of the file
-After, add a line : "mount d [yourletterdrive]: -t cdrom"
The music will work, but the 8 track player won't launch (disappears just after selecting it)
Cheats also work for me.
BTW it should be noted that the 8 track player works fine in RR:RA
however not for the original redneck rampage...which had a better soundtrack :(
Thanks for the tip to enable the 8-track.
But for those wanting to try it, it doesn't work as you gave it. You forgot the slash after the second drive letter. I tried it first the way you gave it and it didn't work, looked up the mount command and saw where it went wrong. =^.^=;;
This is the one that works:
MOUNT D D: -t cdrom
I found out why the codes weren't working. They've changed the levels you can use them on. From what I recall only the last one disabled cheats, this version disables them in the last two highest levels.
I'll have to look through the con files to see where it is and fix it. That is, if it is in there. Does anyone know for sure and what I need to change to enable cheats on all levels?
Thanks in advance,
BobKat
Well, ain't that about a bitch!
It removed the slash!
Let's try this...
MOUNT D D: -t cdrom
*SIgh* =o.O=;;
Just go to http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/MOUNT to see examples of how to use the mount command.
BobKat
his/is/a/test/of/the/code/tag/
upon review the other slashes translate into a tab.

After putting in the mount command to have the game play music from my RR disc and starting a new game, I don't hear anything. However, the game does pause on occasion, and my DVD drive's activity light is on.
I think it's a Vista problem, since I've had other games not play redbook audio at all.
Does anyone know a way around this that doesn't involve playing the game on one of my older XP, 2000, or 98 machines?

you could try checking the DOSbox support forums
Vogons
try -noioctl as extra mount parameter for vista cdroms
