That's because Malwarebytes is shit. Factionfiles is a big Red Faction fan website and absolutely save. I updated my previous post with a link to the latest version of Dash Faction.

I played Red Faction in 2560 x 1440 resolution with Dash Faction so yes running the game in 1080p is absolutely doable.

Hey there - FactionFiles admin here. Just wanted to add that the reason MalwareBytes goes crazy on FactionFiles is because for some reason, MalwareBytes decided that the source of the certificate we use on FactionFiles is untrustworthy - which is completely and entirely wrong. I've handled probably 5 issues with people who couldn't access FactionFiles in the last 6 months or so, and in every case, MalwareBytes was the problem :P

On recommended versions of the game - Dash Faction (1.5.0) is the recommended version of the game. RF 1.21 is sorely lacking in basically every aspect and has a ton of problems, and Pure Faction suffers from some significant issues and hasn't been in development for almost 4 years. Dash Faction is actively updated and supported, and is by far the best way to play the game.
