This glitch can be solved either by installing and using Pure Faction

or by slowing down CPU speed by various software (like cpukiller)

The latest Pure Faction patch (3.0d) did not work for me. It refused to work on Windows 10. However, I'm happy to say that the previous 3.0 version works perfectly. I was able to pass that annoying "exploding submarine" bug with ease.

I experienced such a glitch. Following advice somewhere from Internet I've limited FPS(implicitly - by setting VSync in NVidia Control Panel) and submarine stopped to explode
I experienced this for the first time as well recently.

These are the current steps I used to fix it on Windows 10:

Go to Red Faction Wiki, under Dash Faction Installation Guide

Go to Step 1. to download current program from FactionFiles.com

Follow other instructions afterward.

Once you have it installed, use Dash Faction Setup to set FPS Limit to 60.

Should hopefully then work, as it did for me.
