When I play Red Faction it's stretching the image to fill the screen (16:9).
Does anyone know how to keep it from doing this so the the game displays in a 4:3 aspect ratio?
I just want to play the vanilla game the way it was back in the day.

Preferably without installing a bunch of mods. But I'll take what I can get. :)

Thanks

I had the same problem with Jedi Outcast some time ago. I was able to fix it by changing the scaling setting from Desktop to GPU in my Nvidia system control (found at "adjust desktop size and position"). Tested it with Red Faction and it works just fine on my Win 7 system.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with intel hd graphics so no nvidia control panel.

But luckily your suggestion got me thinking and I remembered using my tv remote for something like this with
a dvd a while back. So I checked and sure enough my tv remote has a picture size button that changes
between 16:9 & 4:3.

I was so caught up trying to find a software/computer fix it never dawned on me the problem was a tv setting.

I'll mark your post the solution for jogging my memory. :)
