Hi, I'm having two problems with vanilla Red Faction:

1. A graphical glitch that causes the screen on the rocket launcher to be either invisible (as if there's no glass in it), or, glitchy yellow lines all over it.

2. More serious is the infamous exploding submarine bug. Worked fine first time, now it explodes every single time.

My question is regarding the Pure Faction unofficial patch.
Pretty much everywhere I look I see people saying it's an absolute must in order to get this game to run on modern OS' free of problems such as the above mentioned.
However, after downloading it from purefaction.org, my anti-virus (Norton) immediately removed the file, labelling it as containing a ''drive-by-download". The file has a Norton Community rating of 1 meaning if true, it's seriously unsafe.

.. Is there any way this can somehow be a so-called false positive? What are others' experiences with Pure Faction?

I'm running Red Faction on Windows 8.1

Thanks :) I tried the link. Out of 53 anti-virus programs, 3 of them class it as some kind of virus. Can't be sure, but I have a feeling these may be false positives. Maybe. Tried the file and it doesn't seem to be causing anything suspicious to occur.
