Me and my friends have tried hosting multiplayer games of Red Faction 1 a couple of times, but we couldn't see each others games in the server list. We were using the "create game"-option ingame.

We also tried to connect by typing in the ip of the server, but this was not possible as we could not write one of the symbols. (The one with the two dots, don't know what it is called in english). Changing the keyboard settings to english did not help. The symbol works perfectly outside the game though.

Joining public servers works flawlessly though, but it would be nice if me and my friends could create private matches. So, is there a way?

We have gotten a lot closer to a solution now. We installed the Pure Faction-patch, which has a nice solution for hosting dedicated servers. We also found out how to write that symbol (was shift + ø), which is pretty nice as well. The problem now, however, is that when one of us hosts a server, two of us can find it in the server list and connect to it without any problems, but one of us cannot see it in the server list whatsoever. What could the problem be?

Maybe it's blocked by firewall or AV?

I don't know about that, we all have it enabled in the firewall, and our antiviruses have never interfered with multiplayer before. The problem is something like this:

Player 1 hosting: Player 2 and 3 can join, but Player 1 can't.
Player 2 hosting: Player 1 and 2 can join, but Player 3 can't.
Player 3 hosting: No one can join (most likely because of bad internet connection).
