Hello there, fellow playes and friends of the free heavens

Speaking of "Red Baron" I am still wondering, if gog might perhaps bring up a copy playable on modern computers for "Crimson Skies" also. I really love this, and the game so far runs smoothly on my new comp - but I cannot read any of the textinformations and am not able to experiment with the different configurations in the equipment-menu, because I cannot read any word in "Crimson Skies".

Perhaps someone has a solution, how to work this on Windows Vista. I've already tried out compatibility-mode, but I have tried several combinations in the compatibility-window, but with no success.
;(
There is a wishlist and you can vote for that game there:

Also in that thread for the wishlist some fixes are mentioned for W7, might work for you too

Thanks for the information, I just worked me through the wishlist. Unfortunately I am still running Vista, maybe I find some cheap version of Windows7 someday.

Actually the first linked to fixes are for vista (my mistake I thought they were all for W7):

I've reposted the link: http://timeslip.users.sourceforge.net/index.html

on the left side csfix (Crimson skies) it has a download
Crimson Skies?
I might give it a try. I'll try anything aviation wise if my pc can run it one time anyway.

Sorry pals, I did try that fix, but either I did do it right or it was not working anyhow. I just came to that point, that I even wasn't able to start Crimson Skies anymore. Even the reinstall suddenly didn't work to finish. Sorry - it's not a great loss, because the copy didn't run properly before and I'd never had a chance to play it through, because of the text not showin' up.

But I hope, the day will come, when GOG will announce the revival of Crimson Skies - it will probably be the only way to play this one mo' time.

Ah well, 'tis a pity ... :(

I don't suppose you have a Mac or Linux-box? I only ask because maybe you could try running the game in Wine - Wine actually sometimes has better compatibility with older games than actual Windows.

Uh, sorry, none of either - in earlier times I used to have Macintoshs, but they are too expensive for my purse nowadays, and regarding to the past, they also were then, especiallay if one considers the opinion of Appla about games then... it even makes me angry today, when I remember the time, where you had, if you were lucky - about ten Mac-Games in the shelves, while the computergames were filled up with about 4 or 5 times as much. Well, they paid the prize for their ignorance.
