I had serious issues with Rebel Galaxy causing BSODs.
The first time it happened was when I ran the game, exited to reconfigure something and then ran it again. When I chose "continue" from the menu, it started to load and then hard crashed my system with an *orange* screen of death and a system_service_exception error.
The second time it happened was while the game wasn't even running. I had run the game launcher and the options window was sitting on my desktop. I got caught up in something else and stepped away. When I returned a few hours later, my PC was sitting at the login screen. My event log reports that a crash occurred and that the system had restarted.
My computer is a laptop with Nvidia Optimus and both times that this happened, my GeForce GPU was somehow disabled (did not show in device manager and Nvidia control panel wouldn't work), leaving it running purely on the Intel IGP. The only way I could get the GeForce to come back was by manually shutting down from the command prompt and powering back on. Even though I have fast start-up disabled in Windows, simply rebooting from the start menu was not enough.
This system has been rock solid stable and has never suffered a crash like this before. I have avoided running Rebel Galaxy and haven't had a problem since.
