Due to me playing on 2 different PCs having setup a sync of savegames between them, I stumbled upon a bug in the logic of Rebel Galaxy in determining available savegames.

If the save file given in the "LAST SAVE" option of local_settings.txt is not available or the option is empty, the game behaves as if there is no savegame available.

The only menu options shown then are new game, credits or exit. No choice to manually select a game or manage saves. The clean way would be to let the game walk through the save directory and determine available saves.
whats the big deal, theres is only one savegame-file (+backup) and it is always "savegame_dat.zbs", so if you rename it for whatever reasons, thats your problem.

i also played on my notebook first, but switched to my desktop. copy, paste, replace, done.

if your using a sync software, normally only newer files are synced, or at least there should be an option to do so. so why would you need to rename the saves?
It's not a big deal.

It's a bug nonetheless. This is a bug report.
