When I click on the map icon on the main screen the entire screen goes black....I can hear the music but nothing else. The only way out is to ctrl/alt/delete out fo the game entirely. Anyone else have this problem? Solution? Thanks.

What version of Windows do you have?? It helps if you list some of your system specs...

Thanks JudaIscariot.....should have thought to do it...duh! I am running Vista 64....RoA 1 runs just fine, including the map icon function.

I've been playing thison my desktopwith no problems, but I just installed it to my laptop, and tis is the same problem I am having.
Bringing up the automap in ROA 2 makes the screen just go black and nothingworks. music still plays.
Running an AMD Turion 64 laptop, onboard ATI x1250, 4G ram, Windows Vista.
Having the same problem. Works fine on my desktop, just installed onto my laptop and getting this issue.

I had this same problem on windows 7 64bit, but when running the game under administator the map works fine and the game overall seems to run better.
I also noticed that RoA1 worked better when running it under administrator.
Anyway hope this helps and enjoy the games!

My account is the Admin account on my Vista laptop, so thats not the issue for me.
If anyone knows a fix for this, please post it here.

I had this same problem running vista 64 on my laptop. I just tried running as administrator and it worked! Thanks dude!

Confirmed. Had the minimap problem on my PC (Vista 32-bit). Running the application as administrator solved the problem. Cheers!
