When I go to save a game in RoA1 I select the slot to use but when it asks me to type in a name it only accepts one character. If I type another character it appears to overwrite the first. When I go to load the game the slots are labeled Start, game2, game3 etc with none of the characters I typed in when saving. The save game itself is OK, I just can't seem to put any names on them. Any ideas? I thought maybe my graphics settings or resolution was causing a problem so I went back to the original .conf file with no change.

I am not sure, but are you typing your name at the end of the other name (i.e. game 1, game 2, etc)?
You have to Backspace the original characters out then type in a new name, as it only accepts so many characters.
