I can't seem to figure out how to pick pockets in this game... The few places I've found mention of the pickpocket skill in guides and such say it's much more profitable than cheating/performing in taverns, and that you take money from merchants. So I've visited a couple of merchants in Thorwal (armourer, herbalist, chandler, healer) and I can't see any option to steal from them. I also tried going to a tavern/inn and there are just the cheat/instrument/acrobatics options under "Use Talent" - no pickpocket. I have a rogue with +7 skill in pickpocket at the front of my party. What am I doing wrong? I'll be sad if it's just a useless skill until RoA2 or something.

When you are in a shop you have to go to the inventory screen (double click on the character portrait) and use the skill from there.

It is extremely good at the beginning of the game when you have nothing to lose. If the skill check fails, you just have to give all your money to the pickpocketed merchant. But you can continue pickpocketing him. So you can just pick his pocket a few times, then spend the money at the same shop and go on until your party is equipped perfectly.

That's what I was missing! Thanks! Now my rogue can do something besides missing every single attack in combat :D Although my warrior randomly started with 100D so I already pretty much kitted out my entire party before I did anything else.

Also thanks for all the extra information about pickpocketing :)
